SWBA Leadership:

The SWBA Leadership is composed of a Board of Directors with a maximum of 11 members, and has divided the work of the association into 5 committees. Three committees manage the operations and integrity of the association. The remaining committees are dedicated to addressing legislative issues and managing membership engagement and interactions. Within the members-only section of our site, you can track committee work, access members-only resources and content, and engage with the leadership. Molly Broder |
Broders Restaurants

Molly and her family have grown a set of successful neighborhood institutions throughout the years. Living and working in the Southwest community, she is engaged with local residents and fellow business owners. Molly joined the Board of Directors to help create positive improvements in the business environment in Southwest Minneapolis.

Caleb Garn | Five Watt Coffee and Big Watt Beverages
Membership Committee Chair

Caleb is a Partner and Co-Founder of Five Watt Coffee and Big Watt Beverage Co. He is a serial entrepreneur, starting his first business at age 12 with a shoe shine shop in the men's locker room of his home town golf course. He has a music performance degree in Bass guitar and has a self-proclaimed doctorate in customers. He is proud to serve as a board member for the SWBA and supports all forms of positive business, which he proclaims is the engine of our community and country.

Dana Habeck |
Nokomis Chiropractic

Dana is the high-energy engine that keeps Nokomis Chiropractic running smoothly and connected to the community. Her enthusiasm and experimental nature flow through all she does, from character growth through challenging excursions and improv classes to encouraging new methods of service here at the association. 

Tom Meckey |
Berkshire Hathaway

Tom Meckey is a Real Estate Broker specializing in residential home sales, new construction, leasing & property management. Prior to entering the real estate industry, Tom worked in IT Sales and Software Implementation for companies such as Ernst & Young, Amercian Express, and US Bank.  He currently lives in the Lynnhurst Neighborhood in Southwest Minneapolis with his family and is active in the community. He is a youth basketball coach with the Minneapolis Lakers and volunteers his time as an adult leader with the confirmation program at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

An East Harriet Farmstead resident, Matt saw a need to bring local businesses together to build a stronger identity for the Southwest area a decade ago, and set about founding the Nicollet-East Harriet Business Association. What started in a concentrated area along Nicollet Avenue has grown over the last 10 years into an organization servicing a much broader territory with assistance in marketing and regulation.

A guy who everyone seems to know, Lonnie is the epitome of a local community builder. He works hard to offer quality, locally produced products inside, and to keep area drivers fueled up and ready to go at the pumps. You'll often find him contributing to local events and sponsoring community organizations.

Anita Motolinia Mediation

A calm and thoughtful mind led Anita into her mediation practice based here in Southwest Minneapolis. Her desire to connect with the surrounding business community led to her engagement with the Southwest Business Association. She brings us together and helps us navigate difficult discussions with her mediation expertise.
