Regulatory Affairs Committee

Building Connection and Value. If you have any questions, know you can always call or email our staff at or 612-823-3472.

Advocacy is a primary mission of the association. Our regulatory affairs committee works with members and respective governments to address regulations, requirements, controls, and mandates affecting member businesses.

Committee Initiatives

Member Driven Focus

The regulatory affairs committee wants to address the issues that have the largest impact on your business. To do so, the committee holds quarterly member meetings called Visioning Sessions. These sessions bring individuals from your same industry sector together to talk about the issues you face, and provide the regulatory affairs committee with direction for developing association advocacy efforts. To sign up for an upcoming Visioning Session, visit our events page.

Better Relationships

Any time we interact with other individuals and organizations, good working relationships are crucial to favorable outcomes. The association leadership and staff work to build positive relationships with government staff and elected officials to improve our success rate when we make requests on your behalf.

Powerful Partners

Actions take shape with the help of powerful partners as we work toward a small business friendly Minneapolis. The Regulatory Affairs Committee sets agendas and actively seeks suitable partners in the work to make your visions a reality.

The combined efforts of dedicated volunteers, staff and engaged members means we get results. Association efforts have resulted in thousands of dollars of savings in licensing fees, modernized liquor laws, saved parking and so much more. Members have access to committee minutes and updates in the members-only section of our website.
